Bayview Mission and Jail Minstry Service and Giving
Thank you to everyone who has participated in our service and giving opportunities over the past several weeks supporting various ministries of Grace Cathedral.
Boys and their families have volunteered their time to help with various service projects, and have also generously donated gifts, family essentials, and clothing that boys have been busy organizing for holiday delivery. The majority of these items will be going to the Bayview Mission for their family holiday party. All of eighth grade will also be volunteering at the party this Monday.
Here is a listing of the gift and items we have received so far (as reported by Student Council):
94 gently-used or new coats for children & adults
99 wrapped toys/gifts requested by children of families served by Bayview Mission and Grace Cathedral's Jail Ministry
100 blankets
476 pairs of new socks (for children & adults)
6,242 diapers (A one-month supply for 26 infants)
14,760 baby wipes (A one-month supply for 61 infants)
Nearly 60 volunteers (including 28 current students, 22 parents, four siblings, two grandparents, two staff, and one alum) have volunteered their time outside of school to help make Thanksgiving dinner at Grace Cathedral; cook meals and prepare bag lunches for over 80 homeless men over three nights last week; and help wrap hundreds of gifts for children served by Grace Cathedral's Jail Ministry this past Sunday.
