Code Week is NOW!

This week, we have embarked on our first official CSB Code Week, an initiative aligned with Code.org’s Hour of Code.

This initiative builds on previous years’ work bringing coding into the classroom. CSB’s Code Week will not only highlight the important role coding plays in our society but emphasize an understanding of how technology works. Just as we want our students to grasp the building blocks of language, understanding what makes a computer or app work will augment our boys’ technological knowledge and skill.

Code Week is not just for kids! Teachers will experience coding activities that support curricular initiatives and open doors to the possibilities of how technology can be further used in their classroom. Parents can participate too! There are an array of options online that promote coding experiences.

Students in second through fifth grades already have accounts for tynker.com, and sites such as code.org and codeacademy.com offer lessons that are straightforward and fun for all ages!

Let the coding being!
