The CSB Library, given in memory of William Sprott Boyd and Gordon S. Rentschler, supports the curriculum and teaching process, provides a wide variety of books to encourage a lifetime love and appreciation of literature, teaches information literacy in preparation for the challenges of living in an information-rich society, and serves as a resource for the CSB community.

The library staff assists students, faculty, administrators and parents by providing resources, collaborating in curriculum development, and assisting in the implementation of good teaching practices. The staff seeks to keep parents informed of resources and processes that support learning, and enhance parenting and literacy.

Library services include:

Teaching research strategies to students and teachers
Collaborating with teachers to develop curriculum
Providing print resources which support classroom teaching
Giving book talks using various genres of literature, areas of interest and reading levels, or to meet specific needs
Developing the multicultural objectives of the curriculum by sharing books that reflect various culture, history and literary traditions
Exposing students to award-winning books, including winners of the California Young Reader Medal Award, and the Caldecott, Newbury and Coretta Scott King Awards
Filling resource requests from teachers, including print, electronic and human resources
Ordering textbooks and trade books
Providing book fairs each year
Enhancing literacy through the Birthday Book Program
