Graduates from CSB go on to attend excellent independent and public high schools as well as boarding schools across the country. Finding a good match between our students and high schools involves a dialogue between family and school and a student’s diligent efforts to work to full potential and to fulfill the expectations of the high school admissions process. Competitive high schools have been receiving an increasing number of applications city-wide, yet many CSB students have been gaining admission at their first-choice school. Equally important, our students report back that they are well prepared both academically and socially for the rigors of high school.
The process of making the transition formally begins at the end of the 7th grade when every family attends an information evening followed by individual conferences with the Head of Upper School. These discussions provide families the opportunity to share their initial preferences, to learn about the full range of options available, and to review their child’s academic history.
Throughout the 8th grade year, families and students receive information and have continuing conversations with the Head of the Upper School. It is important for families to meet deadlines and follow guidelines, whether established by CSB or by the high schools to which their child has an interest in applying.
Our students select a variety of independent, public and boarding schools for their next academic experience. Recent CSB graduates were admitted and have chosen to attend the following schools:
