Chaplain's Corner

While we may at times take being on this campus and in and out of Grace Cathedral for granted, each year groups of students and teachers from other schools make field trips just to see the Cathedral and experience what it's like to be a CSB student. So far this year we have had morning visits from All Saints Episcopal School, Saratoga (7th grade), St. Matthew's Episcopal Day School, San Mateo (5th Grade) and the 3rd Grade from Redding School on Pine Street with whom we also have a Community Service tutoring relationship. These visits variously consist of attending Chapel, get-to-know-you activities with our boys and tours of the School and the Cathedral. It is not an exaggeration to say that our visitors are usually awed and quite appreciative of where and who we are. It's a nice reminder for us to have perspective and be humble and thankful for the same.

In October, we launched the Boys for Bayview project in the Upper and Lower School Chapels. Rev. Nina Pickerell , director of Bayview Mission, made a connection with the boys and the Readathon to raise money for the Bags for Bayview project was launched.  Read more about Boys for Bayview here.

BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS HIGHLIGHTS

It was a beautiful sunny morning on October 5, 2009 as students, teachers, parents, siblings and a variety of beloved pets (both living and stuffed) gathered in the Plaza of Grace Cathedral for our annual Blessing of the Animals.

First grade mom and new rector of St. Luke's, Rev. Dana Corsello, participated in the celebration with a special reading.

This dog inquired as to where he could get a fancy CSB tie...

so that he could be like this fashion-forward friend.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this wonderful CSB tradition.
Bless all of the beasts and the children.
