Heads Up Blog: The Pressure to Excel

In this week's Heads Up, Headmaster Jones offers an article on the potential pitfalls of academic achievement and parental pressure.
This is a Washington Post article that was forwarded to me recently by a Cathedral School parent. (Keep those articles coming!) It offers an important reminder, if not a warning, about the potential pitfalls of academic achievement and parental pressure.

An important question all schools should be asking is about how to create learning environments that are both rigorous and joyful. Cathedral has always worked hard to create a school that is both academically strong and emotionally healthy, though I do feel that we should continue to evaluate our approach. As always, your thoughts are most appreciated!
