Adjustable Tuition

Cathedral School for Boys seeks boys of high character who show great academic promise and leadership potential. Thus, CSB strives to ensure that no family be deterred from applying to Cathedral due to tuition costs. The School maintains an Adjustable Tuition program for approximately a third of the student body, with students receiving approximately $1,385,000 in tuition assistance based on a sliding scale which provides assistance to approximately 1 in 3 CSB households. Additional funds are available for extra-curricular activities to ensure an opportunity for a full Cathedral experience.
Adjustable Tuition is offered to students based on proven need and available school funds. CSB seeks to enroll academically qualified students independent of their financial circumstances. To decide the fairest and most equitable estimate of a family’s need, the school uses the general principles and analysis system of the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) in Princeton, NJ.

Parents submit a confidential Parents’ Financial Statement directly to SSS, which processes the form and sends it to Cathedral School. The school requires that parents submit a copy of their most recent Federal Income Tax Forms 1040 and 4506 and all necessary schedules to SSS. Both parents are expected to contribute toward their son’s educational expenses. Every family must file an updated Parents’ Financial Statement for each year in which they wish to apply for Adjustable Tuition. All financial information submitted is held in strictest confidence.

Adjustable Tuition applicants must complete the Parents’ Financial Statement online by February 5, 2018. Applications must be submitted by this deadline for priority consideration. Applicants do not need to complete their Federal Income Tax Form 1040 before submitting a Parents’ Financial Statement to SSS.
