SPEAK Presents: Raising My Rainbow with Author Lori Duron February 6

Lori Duron is the author of the award-winning book, Raising My Rainbow: Adventures in Raising a Fabulous, Gender Creative Son, the first parenting memoir to chronicle the journey of raising a gender nonconforming child. The book is based on Duron's popular blog, RaisingMyRainbow.com, which has a readership of four million readers across 199 countries. During her talk, Duron will give a frank, heartfelt, and humorous account of her family’s adventures of (initial) distress and (eventual) happiness raising a gender creative son. Duron will explain the differences between sex, gender, sexuality, and other related concepts in an easy-to-understand way. She will share how her family navigated the often challenging, but never dull, privilege of raising a gender creative, LGBTQ son, and will offer tips on how best to support kids like hers, beat the statistics, and launch them healthily into adulthood.
