Art & Display

Volunteers are needed to help our fabulous art teachers prepare the boys' artwork for display around the school. Projects range from matting pictures to organizing work to gluing pieces onto display stands. Showcasing the boys' artwork helps them build a sense of pride in their creative abilities. Coordinate with other members of our community to artistically communicate and inform the school about its members, events, and activities through various displays throughout the school.

Elizabeth Condon

Help coordinate messaging from the Band Department.

Community Service Partners
Chairs: Yvonne Blaxter, Stephanie Lehman, Jenny Stegall, Amanda King (shadow)

Boys for Bayview Mission is an exciting partnership between CSB and the Bayview Mission, a ministry of Grace Cathedral serving the Bayview community in San Francisco. The center of the relationship is the Bags for Bayview Mission holiday event, where the boys - paired as big/little brothers - pack holiday bags with essential household items, as well as a few surprises, to help families through the holiday season and to keep the holiday spirit alive. Volunteers are needed for purchasing items, supervising and assisting with bag packing, and transporting.

Fall Bash

Celebrate and support Cathedral School for Boys on October 21, 2016, at this festive and casual evening featuring good company, delicious food and drink, and music! More details and invitations to follow soon!

Enjoy dinner, dancing, and join your friends in the excitement of the live auction (the silent auction will be online prior to the event and will close just after). The Gala is an event you don't want to miss, so save the date and we'll see you there!

Grandparents and Special Friends Day
Chairs: Abbey Doolittle, Ashley Morando and Elizabeth Sparks

This annual event will take place Tuesday, November 22, 2016, and is an opportunity for your son to share his school community with his grandparents, extended family and special friends. Taking place in the morning, the event consists of the following: Chapel, a brief school program, a light breakfast, and a visit to the classrooms. Due to space constraints, only parents who volunteer may attend - so not only do volunteers help throw a memory-making event, they also get a first-hand glimpse of their son "hosting" his guests. Volunteers are needed the Monday afternoon and/or Tuesday morning before Thanksgiving break. Monday is dedicated to setting up and decorating. On Tuesday, volunteers help with tasks such as setting up, pouring coffee, photographing attendees, directing people, and cleaning up. All are welcome to help at this wonderful event.

Halloween/Haunted Hallway
Rexanne Martin

Help create a memorable experience for the students on Halloween.

Library
Chairs: Michaela Nestler-Chan, Kath Tsakalakis and Bridget Maley-Cannon (shadow)

The CSB Library is the academic hub of the school. Volunteering in this beautiful space is a wonderful way to see CSB in action while supporting literacy, learning, and a lifelong love and habit of reading for all members of the CSB community. The library depends on dedicated parents who are able to support the program by volunteering for two 2-hour shifts monthly. Parents interested in volunteering may either visit the library table at the Parent Association Fair on the first day of school or email Alli Decker, CSB Librarian. Training is provided for all new volunteers or parents who have not volunteered in the past two years. All parents have checkout privileges.

Lunch Program Coordinators
Chairs: Pete Williams and Sara Starr

Volunteers are encouraged to sign up and participate in our Hot Lunch Program. Three to four volunteers are needed daily to assist the boys in the lunch line, make sandwiches, help at the salad bar, assist with waste management, and support the permanent lunch staff. Shifts run from 10:55 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. daily. Volunteers may choose the frequency, day(s) of the week, or specific dates.

Merchandise/Shopping for CSB Program
Chair: Courtney Dallaire

Help transport goods and staff the sales table for CSB merchandise during events like the All-School Picnic and Field Day.

Raising funds for CSB is as easy as shopping and spreading the word to other parents! For more information, please visit the Shopping for CSB page on the school website.

Picnic/Anniversary Celebration
Chairs: Donna Louizides and Mahika Shamdasani

The All-School Picnic will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 in Golden Gate Park. Help make this fun, community event a success by signing up to be a game supervisor or assist with set up or clean up.
