Summer at CSB is our new PreK-8 co-educational immersive summer program that enriches students through a variety of engaging and academically-minded programs. This year, we will be offering five different summer camps with something to offer for students of every age and interest!
Our full-day camp, Brainworks, will be back again this year, providing students with both academic and physical enrichment. Our half-day camps include Pre-K Passports, a camp designed for 4 and 5 year olds; CSB City Explorers, a field-trip-based camp to teach students about the rich history of San Francisco; Kodely Coding Camp, a 4-week long half-day coding camp; and How to Thrive In Middle School, a week-long workshop for rising 4th and 5th graders to help them prepare for everything that comes with middle school.

Full Day Camp

    Brainworks at CSB is a summer program for boys and girls designed to inspire and enrich students through a variety of academically-minded classes and workshops. Our mission is to keep kids inspired academically by exposing them to new, challenging classes in a fun camp environment. Classes are co-educational and are designed for children entering the first through 8th grades. Most faculty and staff are current or former staff at Cathedral School for Boys.

    Faculty for the summer program is primarily Cathedral School for Boys’ year-round educators. Teachers from other Bay Area independent, public, and parochial schools may also be included. Our staff is highly experienced and strives to create a fun, safe, and exciting learning environment for all students. Some classes will be assisted by Leaders-in-Training, a program for students in 6th grade through early high school. Faculty is subject to change without notice.

    Students will get the opportunity to participate in not only an academic program, but also an athletic one. The second half of the day is dedicated to sports, getting outside, and socializing. Coached by CSB’s very own coaches and P.E. department campers will have fun while learning how to be part of a team, sportsmanship, and useful skills.

  • CSB City Explorers (Grades 1-6)

    (Fee includes entry fees to all field trip locations, transportation, t-shirt, and a healthy snack mid-day.)

    CSB City Explorers is a summer program for boys and girls, grades 1-6, where each day the campers will visit a new field trip location in San Francisco. Campers will spend time making friends, getting fresh air, and experiencing all that San Francisco has to offer! Some field trips include the Aquarium of the Bay, Escape from the Rock, California Academy of Sciences, Oracle Park, and much more!
  • How to Thrive in Middle School (Grades 4-6)

    Camp Fee:
    $550/week

    Summer at CSB is offering a one-week-long course on how to thrive in middle school. Open to rising 4-6 grade students, this course will teach you everything you need to know about being successful in middle school! This includes a math refresher, a writing workshop, talking technology, gaming, digital citizenship, study skills, and more. 

    Faculty for the summer program is primarily Cathedral School for Boys’ year-round middle school educators. Teachers from other Bay Area independent, public, and parochial schools may also be included. Our staff is highly experienced and strives to create a fun, safe, and exciting learning environment for all students. 
     
    Additionally, on Thursday, August 17, there will be a parents' night all about how to survive middle school, where CSB middle school teachers will answer questions and share ways to support your child while they embark on middle school! More information on Parent’s Night to come!
  • Kodely Coding Camp (PreK-Grade 6)

    Kodely helps students take their technical skills beyond what they've learned in a classroom setting and apply them to the real world, helping them develop valuable real-life skills and social-emotional learning skills. Kodely's the first design thinking summer & enrichment program for PreK–8th grade. Our learning model is based on principles taught at Stanford d.school and IDEO, and used at companies like Microsoft, Apple, and Google.

    • Learn real-life skills, develop empathy, and learn through projects. Start building a portfolio! At the end of the season, learners organize an Expo to showcase their creations, after which they'll receive a certificate of completion.
    • Develop the creative confidence to respond to new challenges in a growth mindset environment and show students that failure is a natural part of the creative process.
    • Develop strong tech literacy fundamentals and learn to prototype with software and hardware.

  • PreK Passports (4 & 5 Year Olds)

    PreK Passports is a summer program designed to welcome  preschoolers (ages 4 & 5) to being in a classroom setting through exploring different countries and cultures. Each day, students will explore a new culture by learning about customs, traditions, foods, and language. Open to boys and girls who are 4 or 5 years old. 

    We create a fun, safe, and playful environment where campers will learn about the country's flag, cuisine, and language, and they participate in crafts and other activities that help improve fine motor skills, handwriting, sensory processing, and motor planning! Campers will also be given a passport so that they can collect stamps for each country they learn about so they have a tangible memory of their time at PreK Passports.
