Memorial Service for School Founder, Mary "Mimi" Lowrey

Grace Cathedral - Grace Cathedral - Cathedral
If it takes a village to raise a child, then we are especially indebted to those villagers who help us raise an entire school. One such villager was Mary "Mimi" Lowrey.

A champion of education and a firm believer in the sanctity of childhood, Mimi Lowrey was a founder and lifetime trustee of Cathedral School for Boys. For over 50 years since the School's founding in 1957, Mimi was active and engaged in just about every aspect of the School's development and growth. So great was her involvement that her likeness appears in the Grace Cathedral mural about the School, standing far right next to another school founder, Dean C. Julian Bartlett. While Mimi's declining health began to limit her time on campus several years ago, her love for and commitment to the School and its community never wavered. Thus, it is with sadness to share with you that Mary "Mimi" Lowrey died peacefully on Saturday, November 26, 2016.

We hope that you will join us at Grace Cathedral as we honor and celebrate Mimi's life and legacy during a 2 p.m. service on Saturday, January 7. The service will be followed by a reception in Gresham Hall.
