Raising the bar on raising boys

Who We Are

At Cathedral School for Boys, we believe we must continue to define what it means to educate and raise boys. We devote each day to the spirited dialogue, dynamic lessons, and intentional character-building that guide each young boy to engage in the way that best fits him, while he simultaneously develops empathy and respect for the world around him.

Your joy drives Black growth! It’s our 7th year as a volunteer-run organization and movement which means Sunday, February 25, 2024, will be a bold celebration of community and culture. Thousands of people showcase their joy, and fuel Black businesses, artists, and more each year. Together, we've created an experience that builds up and gives back to our amazing community.

      What’s to expect:
      • 200+ Black-owned vendors including food, drinks, clothing, handmade items, and more.
      • 2 stages of Black performances, including a soon-to-be-announced headliner and The Black Joy Choir.
      • Activities for the whole family at Lil Joy for kids include Games n’ Grooves and Healing Village.
      • The Black Joy Parade official merch
      • And, of course, the world's largest Black Joy Parade procession!
The parade begins on 14th and Franklin in downtown Oakland, CA at 12:30 pm PST. Following the parade, the festival begins at 12pm and ends at 7pm. The main entrance to the festival is 19th and Franklin Streets.

Admissions are free for all so bring your friends and family! If you’re able, please donate via Eventbrite or here ahead of time to support the movement. Black Joy Parade is a volunteer-run org and a registered 501c3. All donations go to support local artists and the production of the event.
