Cathedral School for Boys' Tuition
Cathedral School for Boys’ tuition is intentionally inclusive of the school expenses a family will incur over the course of the academic year. From lunch and snacks, to all books, materials, athletics, technology fees, field trips, outdoor education trips, and international travel, Cathedral covers all of them in our tuition.
Cathedral School for Boys seeks to make our education affordable and accessible to all admitted students. We strive to ensure that no family is deterred from applying to Cathedral due to tuition costs. For the 2019-2020 year, tuition for the Lower School (K-4) will be $34,400, and tuition for the Upper School (5-8) will be $34,900.
The School maintains an Adjustable Tuition program for approximately 25% of the student body, with students receiving approximately $1,400,000 in tuition assistance based on a sliding scale which provides assistance to approximately 1 in 3 CSB households. Additional funds are available for extracurriculars, uniform costs, school trips, school supplies, and other incidentals that students may incur. If you are considering Cathedral for your son, please do not hesitate to apply because you think that your family cannot afford it.
Applying for Adjustable Tuition
Adjustable Tuition is offered to students based on proven need and available school funds. CSB seeks to enroll academically qualified students independent of their financial circumstances. To decide the fairest and most equitable estimate of a family’s need, the school uses the general principles and analysis system of the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS)
in Princeton, NJ. The SSS has created a flyer, How to Apply For Financial Aid
, that you may find useful. You will find more resources on the SSS website
Parents submit a confidential Parents’ Financial Statement directly to SSS, which processes the form and sends it to Cathedral School. The school requires that parents submit a copy of their most recent Federal Income Tax Forms 1040 and 4506 and all necessary schedules to SSS. Both parents are expected to contribute to their son’s educational expenses. Every family must file an updated Parents’ Financial Statement for each year in which they wish to apply for Adjustable Tuition. All financial information submitted is held in strictest confidence.
