SPEAK is excited to host Dr. John Medina, author of the New York Times bestseller "Brain Rules" and the national bestseller "Brain Rules for Baby," on Wednesday, October 27 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dr. Medina is a developmental molecular biologist at the University of Washington whose research focuses on brain cells in the womb and what happens to those cells when a person develops a mental illness later in life. During his presentation, Dr. Medina will discuss the topic of resilience. Is there a "resilience gene, and if so, what factors cause that gene to turn on or off?
