The process involves a year-long, self-study, evidence-based adherence to an extensive list of best practices and policies, and a four day visit from a six-member reaccreditation team. We are thrilled to say that the School passed with flying colors!
As the reaccreditation team noted:
"The Cathedral School for Boys' profile succinctly sets forth the storied history of the school and its mission and philosophy of developing the mind, body, spirit and character of each boy in the school's care.
The School's profile tells the story of a well resourced institution, with excellent leadership at both the administrative and board level. The faculty, staff, and administration are in sync to fulfill the mission of the school, with the support of the board. The cordial and collaborative working relationship with Grace Cathedral is another strength the visiting team observed.
The committee also admired the School's apparent success in navigating smoothly through recent, significant transitions, including the appointment of a new Head of School and some administrative restructuring following the retirement of several long-serving members of the team."
Cathedral received top scores in the sixteen categories of evaluation highlighted through the process! Congratulations to everyone—staff, Board members, parents, and students—involved in this process.
Highly effective rating: The self-study and visit provide evidence that the School is meeting the standard in a way that has resulted in a highly positive impact on student learning, the School’s program, and the School’s operation.
This is the highest possible rating that a school can achieve. Thank you to all who partipated in the self-study and supported the school during this process. We are very happy with these results!
