Dear Cathedral Community,
It is with great regret that I write to inform you of the decision to cancel this evening’s Cathedral School Celebration. This decision comes in light of guidelines issued just yesterday afternoon by the San Francisco Department of Public Safety (click here
to read more) that recommend canceling all non-essential gatherings and community events. I realize that this is a disappointing decision, but it is clearly the right thing to do to protect our School and the Bay Area community.
As is always the case, so many people have worked hard for months to prepare for this evening, and I hate that their work will not culminate in an event that supports our School and brings their vision to fruition in celebration of our community. I realize this decision, too, will raise questions about related event logistics and finances, and I promise to be back after we have had an opportunity to work through some of these questions and can provide more detailed responses.
So many of us were looking forward to this evening, and I know that this is an unfortunate turn of events. Again, though, I do feel that this is a necessary decision and one that is aligned with our Mission and values.
I will be back in touch soon with more information about how these new guidelines may influence other Cathedral School operations on Monday.
Thank you for all that you do to support our wonderful School, and I apologize for any disappointment that this decision may cause.
All the best,
